Piers Anthony is the creator of a number of bestselling series, including ‘The Magic of Xanth’, ‘The Apprentice Adept’, ‘The Bio of a Space Tyrant’, and ‘The Incarnations of Immortality’. He is also the author of the bestselling novelisation of the film ‘Total Recall’. Anthony lives in Florida.

Gill Alderman

Gill Alderman was born in Dorset. She is married with two daughters and five grandchildren. She lives with her second husband (a research scientist), two lurchers and three cats in Cobh, on Coold Harbour in Ireland. Until 1984 she worked in micro-electronics research. Gill has written four books The Archivist, The Land Beyond, The Memory Palace and ‘Lilith’s Castle’.

John Ayliff

John Ayliff grew up in the south of England and was educated at the University of Durham. He honed his writing skills while working in the computer games industry, and still sometimes calls his protagonist the ‘player character’ by mistake. Belt Three is his first novel. He currently lives in Vancouver, Canada.

Joe Abercrombie

Joe Abercrombie was born in Lancaster in 1974. His first book, The Blade Itself, was published in 2006. He lives in Bath with his wife Lou and their three children Grace, Eve and Teddy.

Brian Aldiss

Brian Aldiss, OBE, is a fiction and science fiction writer, poet, playwright, critic, memoirist and artist. He was born in Norfolk in 1925. After leaving the army, Aldiss worked as a bookseller, which provided the setting for his first book, The Brightfount Diaries (1955). His first published science fiction work was the story ‘Criminal Record’, which appeared in Science Fantasy in 1954. Since then he has written nearly 100 books and over 300 short stories.
